- Radinio Balker and Shane Maroodza receive first call-up
With seven call-ups across both the First Team and Academy, here are the Town players on duty during the March 2024 international break!
Four senior call-ups, alongside three age group call-ups, mean that seven Town players in total have been selected to represent their country for the March 2024 international break.
Brodie Spencer – Northern Ireland
Brodie Spencer spent the start of this season with Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership before returning to Town in January.
With two senior caps for his country, Spencer has once again been called-up to Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland side.
The 19-year-old will take on Romania and Scotland in this month’s friendlies.
Radinio Balker – Suriname
The 25-year-old defender has received his first call-up to Suriname, who play Martinique in a friendly on Sunday 24 March.
Balker is not the first Town player to be called-up to Suriname, Dean Gorré played for the Terriers between 1999 and 2001, and has since returned to manage the international side – he was called-up alongside teammate Ken Monkou.
Our January signing qualifies for Suriname through his parents.
Giosue Bellagambi – Uganda
Bellagambi was first called up to the senior Uganda national team ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in May 2022 and went on to make his debut in a 0-0 draw against Libya in September 2022.
The young ‘keeper has once again been called up ahead of Uganda’s upcoming friendlies against Comoros and Ghana.
Shane Maroodza – Zimbabwe
Our B Team defender has received his first call-up to the Zimbabwe national team ahead of their Malawi Four Nations Tournament where they face Zambia on Saturday 23 March.
Brahima Diarra – Mali Under-23s
The 20-year-old midfielder was first called-up to the Mali Under-23 side in March 2023, ahead of the Play-Offs, to qualify for the U23 African Cup of Nations tournament.
Diarra has again been called-up to the U23 national team ahead of their friendly against Japan Under-23.
Pat Jones – Wales Under-21s
Jones has received his latest Wales Under-21 call-up ahead of their game against Lithuania in the UEFA Euro Under-21 qualifiers.
The 20-year-old has made six appearances for the Under-21 side so far.
Conor Falls – Northern Ireland Under-21s
Conor Falls has been called-up to the Northern Ireland Under-21 national team but has had to pull out due to picking up an injury.
